In the Trenches

Todays drive by showed the plumbers at work digging the trenches and installing the pipework to the sewer.

Of course another little digger for the children to watch.  What will we do when there are no diggers left to watch!

Oh, and then another drive by mid afternoon showed all the ground work plumbing done!

The Small Things

Okay, I am obsessed with driving past the house to see all the little things that happen.

Today - the Power Pole went in, a sign of things to come.

Piers

Well driving past on ANZAC Day, very surprised to see workmen screwing our piers into the ground - all 40 of them (piers that is, not workmen!)

It is now great to see the beginnings of the house and how it sits on the block.

Next week is trenches, plumbing and formwork ready for concreting the following week.

BLAST OFF!!! Site Scrape started today.....

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain and I thought, Trust!!!  Our Site Start and it is raining.  Nothing that a little drive by at 9.15am resolved that yes, it had indeed started.  The digger was working away scraping the shape of the house on our block.

Then I met the Slab Supervisor on site just after lunch for a quick chat and a run through of the process for the next couple of weeks.

And for all those building a house......YES - the Loo was delivered today!

I am excited........

Drumroll, we have a Start Date!

Very excited to get our Site Start Date - Monday 22 April, with Slab poured on 7 May 13.

We were actually given dates at the Construction Plan Signing appointment, but unfortunately for us, we are putting in a swimming pool and the contractors had not finished by the original dates we were given.  If we had the original dates, the slab would have been poured today.  Bit of a bummer, but no other companies permitted to be working on site whilst PD are there.  OHS potential issues.

Well, just excited that it will all start next week - yippee.  Here is hoping for a smooth ride (I am touching the biggest bit of wood right now!)

Swim Swim Swim

Very excited to see our pool go into the ground.....

The Pool is put to sleep now with a full cover and after the house build, it gets 'woken up', connected up and cleaned.  We will do the paving and landscaping afterwards.

26 March was Construction Plan Signing day, great to see the final final plans!
