Teaser - paint colour and tiles

My BC called today to say the tilers were nearly finished, I said "What", didn't even realise they were there.  So thought I better go and have a look.

Tilers said they should be finished tomorrow.  Everything still needs to be grouted.

My first time checking out our paint colour inside - I LOVE it (Alabaster)

OH - almost forget - also found our Essa Stone tops.  Nice work.

Powder Room
Powder room (still needs tiled splashback,

Main Ensuite - we removed a basin and exchanged

Week 18....Still at it

Well, not too much to report, other than the painters are still at it!
Drove past today and they are still there, however there is also another car there now too....not sure which trade.  Might have to have a sticky beak later on!
Can't wait to see the paint colour on the walls, it has to be on there now, this is day 7 of painting.

Week 17 - as everyone says, it feels a little slow right now

So yes, it all feels a little slow, even though I know lots has happened. Yes there are days when people aren't there as well.

This past week the painters have been onsite, however they said there is plaster work that needs to be fixed so that they can paint.  They still tackled areas around all this prepping everything and covering all non painted surfaces with plastic - windows, cabinets, etc.  Looks pretty funny.  Glad I didn't have to do the wrapping.

With a little visit to the house yesterday to meet SS there, I noticed that a lot of the plaster had been fixed up.  So I can only guess that next week is all systems go for the painters inside, then out.

Over the past 2 weeks the Garage and Alfresco have had the plaster installed on walls and ceiling, with all the finishing off timbers also.

Downpipes were also installed on a yukky windy day!

The roof has been added to the Portico and since being plastered in ceiling also.

Been having interesting discussion with SS about the laundry chute.  The design on plan is a little strange, so working through.  Apparently not many laundry chutes normally installed.  Funny that the chute was installed upstairs but there is no hole in the bottom of the cupboard!  Anyway, SS is onto it and getting it sorted.

Still working on quotes for Landscaping, Fencing etc etc....exhausting!

I wish someone would sweep up the rubbish
I am about to go and do it myself, can't stand it!

Week 15 - Exterior Action this Week...

The exterior taking shape this week....

Roofing on garage and alfresco and rendering done.

Main render - Dulux Stepney
Feature render - Monument

Had Fixing Inspection this week also, so had a good look around inside......

Surprise, it comes with a cutlery draw!

After reading the plans a million times, I missed that the
Top LHS cupboard is 350mm and the rest 400mm!  Annoying!

Guest Ensuite - where the crack is, shows
where the screw went through a water pipe!

Showing the laminate - little difficult to see though.

Dodgy join in the laundry laminate bench top of 3680mm.
Guessing that perhaps 3600mm is the longest width!!!
Join is UGLY and just inside the door!

Laundry Chute
Laundry Chute Open

Master Ensuite - we went with 1 basin only and changed
second set of cupboards to draws

Week 14 - Excited - Fixing Stage complete.....Woo Hoo.

So excited that the house is taking shape.  What a difference 3 days can make in how the house looks......Fixing Stage now complete - we have Independent Inspection booked for Monday morning.

Outside of the House
The capping over the lower 3 guest suite windows had now been fitted, thank goodness, as there was potential for rain to get in through there in high wind.

Front door has been installed, just needs to be painted.

Still waiting for lower storey render to be completed and the roofing on the garage, portico and alfresco roof.

Capping just over the jut out completed.
PMAD 106 door - obscure glass

Stairs
So amazing to see these finally installed.  I am very intrigued to see how these turn out as there was some confusion on the type of stairs we were putting in.  Via our contract we are having: Traditional Stair Option 4 (confusion was in the fact that there are around 4 different types of option 4, our sales consultant had told us we were wanting Option 2, but of confusion in their documentation!
Basically, stairs are stain grade, will be carpeted and have stainless steel posts and stain grade handrail.

Storage Cupboard Under the Stairs

Cabinet Installation
These were installed on Thursday and Friday.

Friday afternoon there was a little hiccup as the installer put a screw into a waterpipe, so SS had to arrange for plumber to head out and fix this.

Note - we will be replacing all handles after handover.

Laundry - white cupboards with laminate bench the full width of the room

Kitchen - white cupboards with brushed silver kickboards - essastone will be installed later on.  We had the extension cupboards go under the window in the dining room and all of these are draws.  Great for platters etc..

Hubby likes the idea of drop saw in the kitchen - feature he says!

Bathroom - Cabinets all installed on Friday afternoon - funny how I get the Fixing invoice at 2.30pm!  At 2.15pm the installer was putting in the laundry chute and the guest bathroom vanity wasn't installed as he had screwed a screw in the plumbing and the plumber had to come out and fix this prior to finished the installation of this cabinet!
Licorice Linea is the colour of the laminate.

Doors
Downstairs we installed the Deco doors as shown on the right.
Upstairs we have used standard doors to bedrooms and linen cupboards.

Nice light coming through the front door
